Hello everybody, welcome back to Suburban Snacks! This month’s snack is Peanut Brittle! Before we review the snack, we’ll be informing you why HOAs exist. If you don’t know what HOA means, it stands for Homeowners Association. According to ramseysolutions.com, it’s an organization made up of people who own homes in the same community, like a condo, townhouse, or planned development. The HOA helps manage the community, and it collects fees to pay for shared amenities. That all makes sense, but what is the actual purpose of the association? The HOA’s main goal is to increase property values in the community. To do this, they enforce rules and regulations on what properties should look like and how the owners can use them. For example, some HOAs here in Southern Arizona, will not allow you to park your RV or trailers in your driveway or side yards. When potential home buyers visit the neighborhood, they’ll see that it’s taken care of and want to move in. HOAs are usually put into place by the developer of a community. They want people to move into and stay in the community that they built. You can almost think of it like a property management company for a single-family home but it’s for a whole community. HOA fees can differ drastically depending on the neighborhood you’re living in. As well as the type of home you live in, whether it’s a condo or single-family home. If you’re looking to move into a community with an HOA you may hear some negative feedback from some homeowners. However, upon further discussion, you may find that they wouldn’t choose to live anywhere else. When it comes down to it, living in a community that is well-maintained is hard to leave. So, if you are someone looking to invest or sell your home here in Southern Arizona, then we at Suburban would love to help! Do you like Peanut Brittle? Let us know in the comments below.
