Creating a spa in your home is “shockingly” still the motive of many homeowners’ design choices. The calming ambiance of a beautiful spa-like bathroom is the one place in a home where people want to feel luxurious. According to Realtor Magazine, here are the top 5 trending bathroom designs of 2022. First up is a black palette. Black is making a splash in tubs, sinks, toilets, window frames, mirrors, tile, and other details. If you’re not a fan of the all-black then you may find that black hardware is still the popular go-to. Number 2 is mix-and-match storage. Keeping a bathroom neat and tidy with storage is in. Customizing the storage to maximize your bathroom space is becoming more and more popular. Number 3 is freestanding tubs. Now it makes me wonder whether or not freestanding tubs are actually appealing for bathing or if they’re just popular because they look cool. Regardless, they do look very chic and it makes sense why they made the list. Onto number 4 which is powerful showers. For years, showers got bigger and more complex. Many were outfitted with larger rain heads and more sprays and jets. Some still want this car-wash effect, but others find that a smaller space with one great showerhead and a handheld spray suffice. Number 5 is unique, to say the least, and that is the usage of bidets. Remember shortages of toilet paper as the pandemic began? The bidet made a strong comeback in the U.S. while toilet paper was scarce, and its popularity continues, even with toilet paper now easily accessible again.
